After - Care Lips

Lips are going to go through a healing process for the first 10 days at least. In this time it is common for lips to darken, swell, itch, and peel through day 7-10. They will itch and scab- DO NOT peel the scabbing, let it come off naturally. Otherwise, the procedure will heal with discoloration, or will heal unevenly, and patchy. 

When drinking, use a straw during the healing process. Be sure to avoid any spicy food in order to prevent any irritation when eating. When showering, be sure to face away from the shower head to avoid getting your lips wet. In addition be sure to avoid long baths, steam rooms, saunas, and high intensity workouts. Sweat is also a way to "wet" the lips so it is crucial to follow all precautions. 

After the procedure, be sure to avoid any products on the lips EXCEPT the one given by the brow artist. Apply that cream once every morning on each lip (unless directed otherwise). 

Be sure to avoid direct sunlight & tanning beds for the next 7-10 days. If you are planning to go on vacation with a lot of sunlight- be sure to schedule your appointment around that timeframe. In addition, be sure to avoid any facial procedures for at least 7-10 days after the procedure.  

To avoid the spread of germs & infection, wash your hands thoroughly before touching your lips. In addition, change your pillow case the night of your procedure to ensure cleanliness. 

To ensue your best results, it is time to book a touch-up procedure 6-8 weeks post initial appointment. This is done to correct any imperfections and allow the artist to see how the pigment does with each individuals' skin. Gives a chance to darken the color or adjust shape imperfections.
